
Recently a comment was overheard that went something like this… “My doctor just isn’t fixing me”. What has happened to our society to cause people to think it is their doctor's responsibility to ‘fix’ them? Don’t get me wrong, there are many instances where doctors are extremely important and they have a lot of great answers. However, MOST of the diseases and issues that afflict people come because of THEIR choices, not the doctors.
(I am speaking from experience here!) Most of the time you create your own unhealthy conditions. You don’t eat fruits and vegetables. You think McDonalds is okay and don’t realize how much you are really eating out. You neglect your diet and exercise, which can lower stress. You neglect to manage your emotions and create self-induced stress, which creates strain in your life.
No matter what, you must realize that taking control of your wellness is of utmost important because your body and mind are your most valuable assets and determine your wellbeing. It wasn’t until I realized everything I am telling you that real change started to happen in my life, and especially in my body.
Take control of your health and it will result in more energy, mental alertness, enthusiasm and creativity in your life! Here are suggestions to start RIGHT NOW:
1. Put down the chips you are eating for lunch and have a carrot, apple, cucumber, banana… whatever fruit or veggie you like. If all you do is replace chips with veggies and fruits, you will start to eat 2-3 fresh veggies and fruits every day.
2. Wake up 10 minutes early to meditate. The whole 10 minutes visualize yourself eating well throughout the day, saying ‘NO’ to cake and ice cream, and smiling while you are doing it.
3. Tell 3 people to keep you accountable every week. Report back to them with how you are doing on your goals.
