Be Your Own Boss

Let’s face it. Job security is sagging. BIG TIME. It is sagging in even very traditionally stable industries. No wonder so many Americans are leaving the ‘corporate cocoon to start their own businesses’. In many ways it is enlivening to see the FRESH entrepreneurial spirit come alive again, no matter if it is out of choice or necessity.
Can you be your own boss? Yes you can, but remember you can't without a few skills to be aware of :
1. Do your leg work and research. There are many great industries out there. What is your passion? Why would you want to be your own boss in a particular industry?
2. Write a business plan. If you have never done this, it is an exciting step. You will actually be able to put your dreams on paper. Have fun with this, then edit.
3. Get your financing in order. One of the greatest things about having your own networking marketing company and/or partnership is the costs are very low.
4. Ask for advice. No matter what industry you choose to embark in, ask for advice from someone who is having success. It doesn’t matter if they are a millionaire. What matters is they are moving forward. They have discovered how to get the ball rolling.
5. Prepare for dark days. Be realistic with yourself. Even starting a business has a ‘honeymoon period’. Inevitably, it will stop. Be persistent, even when the days are hard.

The exciting thing about the times we are living in is that the security of a job is LONG GONE. You must take your future into your own hands. Even if you just start with part time hours to build your business, remember it is your life and future you are working for.
